Vitiligo is a common acquired depigmenting disorders and causes psychosocial problems. The typical clinical appearance of vitiligo make the diagnosis straight forward; on the contraty, treatment of vitiligo usually difficult and required prolonged patient and doctor commitment . This paper will discuss the clinical appearance of vitiligo and several therapeutic options available. The methods consist of general and specific approach including corticosteroid, photochemotherapy (PUVA, KUVA, PAUVA), total depigmentation, or surgical intervention. In addition, 2 new therapeutic methods for early and active vitiligo will be discussed. However, up until recently, PUVA is still the best treatment.
